Where to Host WordPress

Where to Host WordPress

It’s not a complicated thing really, hosting WordPress or any website.

But, with all the hosting mumbo jumbo out there it can get confusing as to what you need out of a hosting service.

How fast does it need to be? How much storage? What is the best? What is the best prices, but still good enough? What about support, will I need it? These are some of the questions that need to be asked. Beyond that it doesn’t need to get too complicated, to Host WordPress, there are lots of sites that can do this well.

When it comes to hosting WordPress, you just need storage space to hold the website itself and a database to host the WordPress database. Both storage and a database are pretty standard with most mainstream hosting services.

Nothing fancy (like dedicated servers and such), unless you plan to store highly sensitive data or expect to have a huge amount of traffic, so it need not be expensive either.

As low as $4/month is about as low as it goes while still having speed, reliability and support, which is pretty cheap I figure! The next price point that is quite common (as a site grows in size and traffic) is about $8/month, usually what you get is a hosting account able to host more websites, more data, more databases, more traffic, etc. Because price is pretty consistent across the board.

The main factors to consider when determining where to host WordPress or any website, are speed, reliability and support. Again, many of these factors can be pretty consistent amount the hosting providers. However, the one that can really vary a lot is, in my opinion, Support.

For me support from where I host my WordPress website is important.

I often get myself into trouble as I am working with my different websites and support has saved me many many times. I have learned, over the years, and don’t call on support as much as I used to, but, I still very much appreciate that I know if I need support, where I host my WordPress site, I can get it fast.

One of the largest and most reputable hosting companies is Hostgator. Bluehost, is also very good, Hostmonster, another good one. Netfirms.ca is good and they are in Canada (there is a netfirms.com too).

There are many many more, some, like Hostgator, also have “Green Hosting” available, which is a cool idea.

Most also have tools with their hosting account, in your CPanel area.  one of the tools you will see is a program called Fantastico or Softulous (depending on host), this program allows you to simply install WordPress on your domain(s) with just a few clicks, it’s pretty slick and simple. Again, this is standard with most mainstream hosting services, so many different hosts will do. None the less, I have been so happy with the customer support of Hostgator, that they are my pick for Where to host your WordPress Website!

What do you think? I am happy to read this and agree for this statement : ” speed, reliability and support. Again, many of these factors can be pretty consistent amount the hosting providers. Many are ignorant about it. Thouth it costs $4/month is about as low as it goes while still having speed, reliability and support, which is pretty cheap, that is good.

I know some web hosting sites, but I think they don’t work well as I want. I’ve tried to make my own site and to host my wordpress there, but too many restrictions for free hosting. I hope there will be free web hosting that won’t restrict too much..

How to select a good hosting is very important. I will recommend to select the web hosting with Cpanel. Then is more easy for us to transfer the site to other web hosting later! Also need to check if there is a 1 click setup wordpress button. That help you to set up word press within 1 second. Besides, also need to check their auto setup’s WP version, some may be outdated. Do send a ticket to ask before rent!

I totally agree with the first sentence of this article. It is not really that difficult or complicated. It is the very details and the attachments out of the advancements that made it so complicated. I also use wordpress, though I always believe in simplicity. Therefore, I try to keep everything plain and simple to avoid complications. As long as I send out my message, it is already fine with me.
