Instant Domain Search Plugin for FireFox
This post is about searching for a domain name and the Firefox plugin called Domains on Firefox, that automatically does an instant domain search, every time you search Google.
Finding the right Domain name can be challenging. There are two ways to approach choosing a domain name; one, you ‘Brand’ your website. An example of this is NameBoy.com, a website used to search for domain names based on keywords. Another example is Newegg.com, a major internet retailer of electronics. The second way to approach naming your website it to target a domain that contains keywords related to your site, that are highly searched. An example of this might be domainnames.com, where “Domain Names” is the keyword that is highly searched, and is the topic of the website. the advantage of choosing a domain name targeted at a highly searched keyword is that the business owner will have an easier time getting the website ranking within Google search, preferably on the first page, for a highly searched keyword relevant to your website.
The first page of a Google search displays 10 websites (results) and a bunch of advertisements. It is fairly well known that many people don’t go past the first page or two of a Google, so getting your website listed on the first page, in the top 10, is a very very big deal and the goal of many business owners. Being listed on the first page is not typically easy, it takes time, strategic SEO and choosing the right keywords. But it can be done and is being done by many hard working business owners.
I found a free Firefox plugin that searches the top 10 domains for any search term and automatically determines if any of the domains listed are available for purchase. This is pretty cool because it gives a business owner the chance to register a domain already listed on the first page of Google. This equates to instant traffic and saves months of work and waiting for a new site to climb onto the first page.
The reality is, sometimes all the best effort still won’t get you to the first page, competition is just too high. Being able to conduct an “instant domain search” for available domains already ranking on the first page is a way to fast track a website and ensure your business is listed on the first page, pretty cool indeed.
